As ourTool and Die Maker you'll lead tool development and the debugging of new dies.
Specifically, we are seeking experience with …
- Troubleshooting skills as a Tool and Die Maker
- Blue-Print reading with GDT
- Knowledge of SPC
- Various inspection equipment
- Basic computer skills
The Tool and Die Maker will:
- Keep a clean and safe work area
- Understand tool steels and production material
- Must be able to work from blueprints and CAD data to construct, alter or repair tools
- Must be able to operate Tool Room equipment
- Responsible for fabrication of tooling in stamping department
- Maintain proper tooling records for preventative maintenance
- Knowledge to setup dies, material feeds, and operate the punch press to trial tools
- Experienced in debug and troubleshooting of new tooling for part approval process
- Assist in Die changeovers
- Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
About you - What you'll bring to the table:
- Completed Tool and Die Apprenticeship or 10+ years of equivalent experience
- Have 5-7 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker with troubleshooting skills
- Expert in Blue-Print reading with GDT
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of SPC
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. with assistance as necessary
- Ability to push 200lbs. on wheeled carts with assistance as necessary
- Ability to use various inspection equipment
- Must be available for mandatory overtime or non-standard or extended work schedule
- CNC Mill and EDM experience is a plus
What OTTO offers for this specific position:
The hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming an hourly rate for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.
- Target hourly hiring range: $26.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
- Profit Sharing Bonus - OTTO believes that it's fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year. OTTO's profit sharing plan is paid at the discretion of the company and is not a guaranteed bonus or any part of a compensation plan.
- Vacation:five days after 30 days of employment and 80 hours at 1 year - vacation time is earned on the anniversary date.
