Job summary

NAPCO, a Westlake Company, seeks an skilled machinist to operate conventional machine shop equipment and support injection mold tooling. You will read drawings, set up machines, take precise measurements and ensure quality while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or trade certification, 2+ years in a machine shop, strong math and problem‑solving skills, and good communication. Forklift license may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an accredited machine shop or tool and die vocational school preferred.
• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in math.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of metal properties and other material.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.).
• Review drawings, instructions, blueprints for accuracy.
• Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Plan sequence of tasks and monitor machine for quality.
• Identify tooling issues and provide solutions to downtime.
• Maintain safe and clean workstation.
• Maintain records of work activity and time.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on machines.
