Meritec in Painesville, Ohio seeks a Tool & Die Maker to fabricate and repair molds for plastic injection. The role involves laying out, machining, fitting, assembling, and finishing metal parts to build high‑quality molds.

Ideal candidates will read blueprints, plan operations, and verify tolerances. Five years of related experience and a HS diploma are required; the position offers growth within a well‑established interconnects manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Ability to solve practical problems with concrete variables and limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints to compute specifications for dies/molds.
• Plan operation sequences and visualize die/mold shapes.
• Measure and mark metal stock for machining.
• Grind parts to fit and finish cavities.
• Assemble die or mold and verify dimensions.
• Repair molds as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
