Job summary

NAPCO, a Westlake company, operates as a leading PVC pipe manufacturer with a strong focus on training and development. This role involves operating conventional machine shop equipment to build, repair, and prepare injection mold tooling and related components.

You will report to the Shop Supervisor and perform tasks from reading drawings to sharpening cutters, maintaining tooling, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from an accredited machine shop or tool and die vocational school preferred.
• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in math

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains conventional machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.)
• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate work
• Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
• Maintains a safe and clean workstation
• Troubleshoots injection mold problems and tooling issues to minimize downtime
• Calculates tooling stack up from dimensions on engineering drawings
• Maintains accurate records of work activity and time
