Qualifications

• Experience in tool making, machine building, or automation tooling.
• Skilled at building from prints.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges).
• Experience with hand and power tools used in tooling assembly.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot mechanical problems.

Responsibilities

• Build tooling, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies from prints and drawings
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and engineering prints
• Fit, assemble, align, and adjust tooling components
• Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, filing, and other manual fitting operations
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Install and assemble components such as locating pins, clamps, brackets, stops, and tooling details
• Troubleshoot fitment and mechanical issues during the build process
• Make modifications and adjustments to tooling as required
• Work closely with machine builders, engineers, and other skilled trades
• Ensure tooling is assembled accurately and meets customer specifications
