Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build tooling, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies from prints and drawings.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and engineering prints.
• Fit, assemble, align, and adjust tooling components.
• Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, filing, and other manual fitting operations.
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Install and assemble components such as locating pins, clamps, brackets, stops, and tooling details.
• Troubleshoot fitment and mechanical issues during the build process.
• Make modifications and adjustments to tooling as required.
• Work closely with machine builders, engineers, and other skilled trades.
• Ensure tooling is assembled accurately and meets customer specifications.

This position will focus on building, assembling, fitting, and modifying tooling and automation components from mechanical prints and engineering drawings. Candidates should have hands-on experience working in a machine build, tooling, fixture, or automation environment.

Responsibilities

• Build tooling, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies from prints and drawings
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and engineering prints
• Fit, assemble, align, and adjust tooling components
• Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, filing, and other manual fitting operations
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Install and assemble components such as locating pins, clamps, brackets, stops, and tooling details
• Troubleshoot fitment and mechanical issues during the build process
• Make modifications and adjustments to tooling as required
• Work closely with machine builders, engineers, and other skilled trades
• Ensure tooling is assembled accurately and meets customer specifications

Qualifications

• Previous Tool Maker, Machine Builder, Die Maker, or Automation Tooling experience
• Strong ability to build from prints
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings
• Experience with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges
• Experience with hand and power tools used in machine/tooling assembly
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot mechanical problems
