Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in the United States seeks a lab tester to support testing of architectural glazing units for quality and performance. You will select units for testing, transport them to the lab, unwrap and re-wrap, and prepare specimens for evaluation.

You will perform air infiltration and water penetration tests, analyze results, determine causes for test failure, and communicate findings to line supervisors.

Qualifications

• Read and use precision measuring tools including caliper and dial indicator.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Word.

Responsibilities

• Select units for testing.
• Transport units to and from the lab.
• Unwrap and re-wrap the units.
• Specimen preparation.
• Perform air infiltration and water penetration tests.
• Analyze causes for test failure.
• Communicate with Line Supervisors.
• Assist in product certification and buck building.
• Coordinate with the shipping department to prevent delays in shipping to the customer.
• Other duties as assigned
