Job summary

Shiel Sexton is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Noblesville, IN office. Travel to project sites will be required to review substrate acceptance, metal panel systems, testing, and document installation of building envelope systems to prevent air leakage and water infiltration.

Responsibilities include field inspections, coordinating tests, reporting, and defect tracking. Travel to project sites and collaboration with crews and clients are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or architectural engineering.
• 3–5+ years of construction experience focusing on building envelope cladding, roofing, or air barriers.
• Familiarity with ASTM and AAMA standards for testing.
• RRO or ABAA training preferred.
• Proficient in digital tablet-based QA reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Field inspections of exterior wall cladding, sheathing, air barriers, and roofing for contract compliance.
• Coordinate, witness and document air and water infiltration tests (e.g., AAMA 501.2).
• Prepare detailed QA field reports with photos of compliant and non-compliant work.
• Identify and track deficiencies; issue NCRs and monitor corrective actions.
• Inspect incoming materials to ensure proper storage and submittal compliance.
• Collaborate with superintendents, subcontractors and clients to resolve quality issues and guide installations.
• Review cladding product shop drawings with production and engineering teams.
