Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, South Carolina is seeking a Mechanical Technician – Switchgear to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role you will assemble mechanical components and enclosures for low and medium‑voltage switchgear according to engineering drawings and specifications.

You will inspect assemblies, follow safety procedures, use hand and power tools, and document production activities. The position offers daytime or second-shift options, opportunities for growth, and a collaborative

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Experience in mechanical assembly or fabrication preferred.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Comfortable using hand and power tools and measuring instruments.
Strong attention to detail and safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

Assemble metal enclosures, frames, and subassemblies per drawings and work instructions.
Install doors, panels, gaskets, and hardware with hand/power tools.
Use calipers and rulers to ensure proper alignment and fit.
Drill holes and modify components to support custom builds.
Inspect assemblies for quality and report defects.
Complete production checklists and documentation.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
