Job summary

Vertiv Co in Pelzer, SC is seeking a detail-oriented Wiring Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will wire electrical components for switchgear systems based on schematics and engineering drawings, ensuring reliable power solutions for global customers.

Ideal candidates have experience in electrical wiring or switchgear assembly, can read schematics, and are proficient with wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, and power tools. Excellent safety habits and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient with wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters and hand tools.
• Safety-conscious with adherence to PPE and electrical safety standards (OSHA, NEC).

Responsibilities

• Wiring & Assembly: Install and connect wiring for electrical switchgear components based on detailed schematics, diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Component Installation: Mount relays, circuit breakers, switches, busbars, and other electrical hardware into enclosures using hand and power tools.
• Routing & Terminating: Route, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables accurately and efficiently.
• Quality Control: Conduct self-inspections of wiring to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and code standards.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Assist in functional testing and troubleshoot miswires or component malfunctions.
• Documentation: Follow work instructions and document completed wiring tasks according to production requirements.
• Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
