Job summary

Vertiv seeks a skilled Mechanical Fitter to assemble metal enclosures and subassemblies for low/medium-voltage switchgear on our manufacturing floor. You will follow engineering drawings, use hand and power tools, and ensure precise fit and alignment of parts.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly or fabrication in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layouts.
• Comfort with hand/power tools and basic shop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal enclosures, frames, and subassemblies for switchgear per drawings.
• Install doors, panels, gaskets, brackets using hand/power tools.
• Verify alignment and fit with calipers, rulers, and squares.
• Drill holes, tap threads, and modify metal components as needed.
• Inspect completed assemblies and report defects to meet quality standards.
• Complete production checklists and assembly records accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow safety procedures.
