True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Swiss CNC Setup Machinist to setup and operate complex, close-tolerance jobs on Swiss-type lathes. You will ensure parts meet quality standards and perform first piece approvals before turning over to operators.

The role requires 2+ years of Swiss-type CNC setup experience, good reading of mechanical drawings, and strong measurement skills. Training others and achieving optimal cycle times are key focuses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Swiss-type CNC setup experience (CITIZEN, STAR, TSUGAMI preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and prints with tight tolerances.
• Strong measurement skills using micrometers, calipers, pin gauges and optical comparators.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs on Swiss-type lathes (Citizen/Star/Tsugami) including guide bushing setup and bar feeder loading.
• Work with programmers to ensure accurate setup instructions and run plans.
• Perform 1st part approval and hand-off, train/oversee multiple operators.
• Maintain cycle time, tool life, and quality through offset adjustments and process improvements.
• Inspect parts to tight tolerances and document results.
• Operate machines between setups and monitor tooling, coolant, and stock.
