Job summary

V2X in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a Surface Prep Technician (1st shift) to support the Modernization and Sustainment site. You will remove coatings, prep surfaces, and ensure finish quality according to specifications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret prints and drawings.
• Thorough knowledge of metals, plastics, and other materials and their reactions to surface preparation operations.
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating removal methods.

Responsibilities

• Removes coatings, excess material, and surface defects using abrasive tools.
• Blends surface imperfections to achieve uniform finish.
• Prepares surfaces for subsequent processes with proper adhesion and finish quality.
• Smooths surfaces and achieves specified finishes using appropriate techniques.
• Selects abrasive materials and equipment according to material and coating.
