Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking an experienced technician to lead the layout, fabrication, assembly and inspection of mechanical systems, sheet metal and subassemblies. You will align and measure intricate assemblies using optical methods and verify processes against dimensional standards.

Responsibilities include developing operation sequences, fabricating and mating hardware, performing in-process inspections, installing thermal controls and sensors, and reading fabrication

Qualifications

• Must perform all assembly operations to build sheet metal and structural assemblies, including inspection.
• Read and interpret fabrication and assembly blueprints; perform shop mathematics including trigonometry.
• Must be certifiable in solder, crimp, and splice.
• Must possess knowledge of security regulations applicable to program peculiar activities.
• Ability to interpret verbal directions and incomplete engineering documents such as drawings and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Develop the sequence of operation and fabricate/assemble close-tolerance sheet metal and mechanical assemblies.
• Set up optical equipment to align and measure features of assemblies; verify processes.
• Improvise shop aids and test equipment to aid fabrication, assembly and installation.
• Perform in-process inspection and ensure dimensional standards are met.
