Wiegel Tool Works, Inc. in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a Metal Stamping Press Set-Up Specialist responsible for configuring progressive dies, dialing in feed systems, and running production with attention to quality.

You will read work instructions, verify materials, measure with gauges, set tooling, troubleshoot, train operators, and maintain safety and cleanliness. The role requires blueprint literacy, shop math, and forklift competence; OSHA training is expected.

Qualifications

• Blueprint literacy and basic shop math.
• Ability to distinguish raw materials (stainless steel, cold rolled steel).
• Working knowledge of punch presses and related equipment.
• OSHA training: LOTO, Hazard Communication, PPE, Emergency Evacuation.
• Certified Forklift Driver; familiar with hoists and cranes.
• Standing for the full shift with manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Review work instructions and gather materials, lubricants, packaging, etc.
• Set and position progressive tooling and fixtures; configure accurate material feeds.
• Run the first piece and verify to print using gauges, micrometers, and calipers; adjust as needed.
• Operate the machine to meet production requirements; package and label parts correctly.
• Visually inspect for burrs, scrapes, rust, and other defects throughout the run.
• Perform routine maintenance on assigned machinery and equipment.
• Keep the area clean and organized; complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Train and assist operators on difficult jobs; reset or adjust work as necessary.
• Troubleshoot tools and die protection; collaborate effectively to resolve daily issues.
