Job summary

Germfree is seeking a Metal Finisher to finish stainless steel surfaces for biosafety cabinets, laminar flow equipment, and lab furniture. You will grind, deburr, blend, and polish welded seams to achieve satin, mirror, or brushed finishes and ensure surfaces meet sanitary and dimensional standards.

The role requires 1–3+ years experience in metal finishing with a focus on precision and quality. You will work in a manufacturing environment with PPE and safety protocols in place.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years hands-on experience in metal finishing or related metalworking trade.
• Experience finishing stainless steel preferred.
• Ability to read prints, work orders and finish specifications.
• Proficient with calipers and precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, blend, and polish welded seams and metal surfaces to specified finishes.
• Deburr and smooth edges to produce sanitary, safe surfaces for lab equipment.
• Inspect surfaces for defects and correct as needed.
• Read work orders and determine finishing methods and tolerances.
• Select and maintain grits, wheels, belts, and polishing compounds.
• Support surface prep for passivation or corrosion-resistance treatments.
