Aerotek in Greenville, SC is seeking a Slitter Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor slitting machines, ensuring precise film widths and quality. You will read production tickets, perform basic data entry, and handle materials up to 50 pounds while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires hands-on machine operation, shop math proficiency, and attention to detail across 2nd or 3rd shifts, with on-site work in a climate-controlled facility.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform shop math to support setup, measurements, and production calculations.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure to 1/16 inch for precise measurements.
• At least 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to consistently lift and handle up to 50 pounds.
• Experience setting up and operating slitting machines or similar equipment.
• Competence using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, templates, rulers, and squares.
• Basic data entry skills for activating jobs and recording information in computer systems.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to use hand tools and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Attention to detail for inspection, labeling, and verification of product specifications.
• Ability to read and follow production tickets, packing specs, and basic prints or blueprints.
• Commitment to safe production practices.

Responsibilities

• Start slitter machines and monitor production to run the number of sets specified on work orders.
• Set up and operate slitting machines to cut film to specified dimensions according to tickets and specs.
• Install and align blades accurately before and during runs.
• Adjust blades and controls with hand tools and monitor operation continuously.
• Test and adjust machine settings to meet spec requirements.
• Feed stock from reels and secure material for proper winding.
• Inspect rolls for defects and verify conformity to specs.
• Measure dimensions with tape measures and calipers to confirm specs.
• Match material to product codes on tickets and confirm accuracy.
• Enter ticket information in the computer system to activate jobs.
• Inspect products daily for defects and ensure quality standards.
• Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds and transport products as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around machines.
