Smith Industries in Midland, TX is seeking a reliable Saw Operator to cut raw materials to specification and support production in a fast-paced environment. You will operate and inspect the saw, read blueprints and BOMs, and measure accurately with a tape measure.

Responsibilities include blade replacement, coolant maintenance, material labeling, and coordination with shop supervisors. Forklift/overhead crane experience, safety focus, and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing or saw operation experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect the saw daily to ensure safe operation.
• Read blueprints and BOMs to cut materials to required specifications.
• Measure and cut material accurately using a tape measure.
• Replace saw blades and maintain coolant and water levels as needed.
• Label cut materials and drop material with appropriate information.
• Cut material for Vessel Shop and Tank Shop and operate forklifts/cranes safely.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and required production documentation.
• Communicate effectively with shop supervisors, leads, and production teams.
