Job summary

PIPE MOVERS, INC. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Saw Operator to set up and operate saw equipment to cut metal per work orders and precise measurements. You must read a tape measure, perform basic math, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

The role requires attention to quality, ability to identify defects, and teamwork with supervisors and coworkers. Prior band saw or chop saw experience in a warehouse/industrial setting is preferred; lifting up to 50 pounds and working around loud machinery

• Proven experience in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiar with modern warehousing practices.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and gather the required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job
• Set up the saw machine and make adjustments for each job
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths
• Operate the saw machine safely and efficiently while monitoring for defects, equipment issues, or other problems
• Use measurement tools to verify cuts and ensure accuracy
• Inspect finished pieces for quality and report any discrepancies
• Help transport finished pieces to the designated area
• Maintain the saw and perform routine care and cleaning as required
• Maintain, organize, and clean the work area daily
• Notify the supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Follow quality service standards and comply with company procedures, rules, and regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned
