As a hands-on position, you will read manuals, perform repairs, and work with millwrights to troubleshoot sawing issues. Emphasis on safety, accuracy, and reliability in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good mechanical aptitude with at least 1 year of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and specs.
• Physical ability to lift heavy tools and stand for long periods.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Sharpen, bench, level, tension, and align circular saws, band saws, and other cutting tools.
• Inspect saws for cracks, wear, and defects; repair or replace as needed.
• Maintain proper saw tooth geometry including side clearance and kerf.
• Operate filing room equipment such as grinders, swages, welders, and tensioning machines.
• Monitor saw performance during production and adjust for quality.
• Maintain records of saw maintenance, usage and inventory.
• Collaborate with millwrights and machine operators to troubleshoot sawing issues.
• Keep filing room clean, organized and compliant with safety standards.
• Follow mill safety procedures and use PPE.
