Job summary

Saw Filer in Roseburg, OR is a maintenance role supporting saw filing operations. You will inspect, sharpen, and repair bandsaws and circle saws, assist with knife grinding, and help with saw changes at edgers and bandmills.

You must follow 14-step lockout/tagout, wear PPE, and work safely in a noise-filled environment. Wage is determined by experience; full-time role within our maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to inspect, level, tension, and sharpen saws.
• Ability to assist in knife grinding and saw changes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication with supervisors, operators, and team.
• Troubleshoot saw damage and monitor changes.
• Inspect, level, tension, and sharpen bandsaws and circle saws.
• Side grind bandsaws and circle saws.
• Lift saws in and out of tippers and grinders.
• Help repair damaged teeth by welding or replacing teeth.
• Assist in knife grinding and saw changes at edgers/bandmills.
• Keep filing room machinery clean and maintained.
• Understand operation and calibration of filing room equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance on PMs and other tasks.
