Job summary

Biomerics in Monroe, CT is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure finished products meet customer requirements and quality standards. You will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using microscopes and precision measuring tools, documenting data and NCRs as needed.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a machining or high-tech manufacturing environment, GD&T knowledge, and experience with CMMs, video measurement systems, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Quality Operator or Inspector in a machining or high-tech manufacturing environment preferred.
• Educational background in light industrial trades and/or in a post-secondary vocational program is a plus.
• Proficiency utilizing microscopes for visual inspection is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency utilizing a wide range of measuring instruments; experience with CMMs, video measurement systems, comparators, height gauges strongly preferred.
• Must have GD&T knowledge

Responsibilities

• Conducts first article, in-process and last article inspections for machine operators.
• Reads blue prints to ensure proper inspections methods and tools.
• Interfaces with production to provide timely inspections and resolve issues.
• Interfaces with customers when needed.
• Performs material movement, inspection data gathering and reporting as needed.
• Documents NCRs as necessary.
• Promotes the inspection department as a valued resource and not just a problem finder.
• Completes inspection forms in a neat and professional manner.
• Works effectively under a time restricted environment at times.
• Develops inspection checklist sheets as necessary.
• Obtains any additional documents from customers to ensure proper inspections.
• Performs incoming inspection as necessary.
• Participates in product dispositions as necessary.
• Keeps work area organized and promotes good housekeeping.
• Follows applicable QMS Documents, Procedures, and Process Maps.
