Job summary

Thread-Craft-Inc. in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our precision manufacturing team. You will inspect ballscrews and related assemblies to verify conformance with engineering drawings and customer requirements.

The role requires reading tolerances, using calipers and micrometers, documenting results, and collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in quality inspection, QA/QC, or related hands-on role preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specs.
• Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools.
• Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 in aerospace/defense environments is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication with teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on quality inspections of precision-machined components, including ballscrews, to verify conformance with drawings and customer requirements.
• Use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and product quality.
• Interpret drawings, tolerances, and specs to determine acceptance and document findings.
• Identify defects and nonconformances, documenting results and communicating concerns.
• Prepare inspection reports and nonconformance reports; support root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments to improve quality and processes.
• Verify calibration of inspection equipment and maintain traceable quality records.
