Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure batching, mixing, and delivery meet project specs and customer expectations.

You will perform QC tests (air content, slump, strength, yield), calibrate equipment, sample raw materials, record results, and communicate with dispatch and batch personnel. Occasional travel to monitor quality standards and assist on-site.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement includes a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in QC within construction, industrial, or manufacturing environments is required.
• Strong organizational and mathematical abilities are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC tests (air content, slump/workability, coarseness/sandiness, yield, set time, water-cement ratio, strength).
• Calibrate production and testing equipment.
• Sample and test raw materials for specification compliance.
• Record and communicate test results to dispatch, batch personnel, and customers.
• Troubleshoot fresh and hardened concrete to identify quality issues.
