Job summary

Balance Staffing is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our team on fabrication projects in the Utah region. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections to verify weld quality, ensure drawings and codes are met, and keep detailed inspection records.

This hands-on role supports production with a focus on defect identification and adherence to contract specifications. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least 3 years in quality control or fabrication, and

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in quality control or fabrication.
• Certifications such as CAWI, AWS-CWI, SCWI, or CSA W178.2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of shop fabrication, including weld preparation, final welds, and paint finishes.
• Ensure all fabricated materials meet drawings, shop standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Maintain accurate in-process and final inspection records for quality assurance and production control.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies in collaboration with detailers.
• Coordinate with customer inspectors during inspection phases.
• Communicate fabrication defects to foremen and production teams.
• Assist shop personnel with interpretation of codes, drawings, and specifications.

Quality Control (QC) Inspector

Position Overview

The QC Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections to verify weld quality and dimensional accuracy of fabricated components. This role requires strong technical expertise, knowledge of industry codes and standards, and the ability to ensure all products meet contract specifications and are free of defects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of shop fabrication, including weld preparation, final welds, and paint finishes

• Equivalent combination of training and experience in metals fabrication, inspection, and testing will be considered
