Job summary

WBM INC in Wheeling, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our CNC shop full time. You will inspect machined parts for dimensional accuracy, interpret engineering drawings and GD&T tolerances, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

You will use calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to document inspection results, communicate non-conformities, and support corrective actions. A high school diploma is required; technical certification or degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in quality inspection within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 quality management systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect CNC machined parts and components for dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, and gauges.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T tolerances.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality control records.
• Identify and communicate non-conforming parts to production and engineering teams.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Perform in-process and final inspection of machined components.
