Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Position Title: Quality Control Inspector Wage: $28.00-$35.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm QPS Employment Group is hiring a Quality Control Inspector for a company in Rockford, IL. This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect complex parts and assemblies
• Perform dimensional inspections (first piece, last piece, in-process) on machined parts and weldments using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other specialized measuring equipment
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to investigate, identify, and resolve the root causes of manufacturing issues
• Evaluate production quality by identifying, assessing, and documenting defects in semi-finished and finished goods
• Maintain quality records by accurately completing required forms, reports, logs, and compliance documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school or GED equivalent
• Experience with PC-DMIS software is highly preferred
• Experience using Hexagon arms or Zeiss CMM systems is highly preferred
• Strong geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T / ASME Y14.5) skills with the ability to interpret complex blueprints and welding symbols
• 3 years of experience with machined parts, fabricated welded assemblies, sheet metal parts
• Must be able to pass a practical micrometer and caliper proficiency test
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Quality Technician (CQT) is a plus
