Job summary

The Gill Corporation-Maryland is seeking a skilled fabricator to join our second/third shift teams. You will fabricate aerospace honeycomb and metal core materials, interpret engineering drawings, and use precision tools to meet exacting tolerances.

Expect overtime and shifts from 2:00 PM–10:30 PM or 10:00 PM–6:30 AM, with shift differentials of $2.00 and $3.00 per hour respectively. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and 1–3 years in aerospace or precision manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of aerospace, aviation, or precision manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with precision measurement tools.
  • Strong English reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate aerospace structural components and honeycomb/composite core materials per drawings and planning documents.
  • Interpret sketches and process sheets to meet tight tolerances (±.001–.005 inches).
  • Document and certify all process steps ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Perform layout, trimming, routing, chamfering, and cutting within tolerances.
  • Operate saws, routers, expanders and roll formers; maintain clean, organized work area.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

We specialize in a wide variety of structural honeycomb core materials. By utilizing broad engineering expertise along with sophisticated 5-axis CNC machining and special processing, we have the ability to deliver solutions that are responsive to customer needs.Compensation for this role: $21.00-$23.00 hourlyShifts:2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM ($2.00/per hour shift differential)3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM ($3.00/per hour shift differential)Summary:Fabricates, cuts, and forms metallic and composite core materials for aerospace structural applications. Operates precision fabrication and metalworking equipment to manufacture parts to exact engineering specifications, tolerances, and aerospace quality standards. Ensures all components meet AS9100 and customer requirements for safety, traceability, and performance prior to release to the next operation or final shipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Fabricate aerospace structural components and honeycomb/composite core materials in accordance with engineering drawings, work orders, and manufacturing planning documents.Interpret and follow sketches, specifications, and process sheets to meet close tolerance requirements (±.001–.005 inches typical).Document and certify all process steps in accordance with aerospace quality and special process requirements, ensuring full traceability.Perform layout, trimming, routing, chamfering, and cutting operations within specified tolerances.Utilize precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, height gauges, scales, protractors, and other inspection devices.Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, routers, expanders, and roll formersPerform core stabilization processes per established aerospace procedures.Conduct routine operator-level preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and process control.Maintain clean, organized, and FOD-free work areas in compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards.Participate in cross-training across multiple work cells, fabrication disciplines, or aircraft programs as required.Adhere strictly to plant safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental health standards.Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.Perform other duties as assigned to support production schedules and customer commitments.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
