Job summary

The Gill Corporation is seeking a Quality Engineer to manage non-conformances, corrective actions and CAPA investigations, with a focus on AS9100 compliance and supplier qualification. You will interact with customers, analyze data, and develop quality metrics to ensure manufacturing readiness.

Responsibilities include PFMEA, FAI documentation to AS9102 standards, and preparation of inspection plans while aligning with ANSI and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a Quality Engineer or Quality Specialist.
• Experience interfacing with customers to perform audits and address concerns/complaints.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO standards; ASQ auditor certification preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer complaints by addressing corrective actions with scheduled dates.
• Support Operations Engineers and Quality Manager with customer interfaces to address quality issues; monitor customer rejections per GOS 8.5.2-1.
• Develop sections of quality metrics, design, and production certification plans to ensure compliance.
• Perform data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness; create inspection plans and PFMEA.
• Read and interpret customer specifications, ANSI procedures, industry standards and drawings; prepare and analyze reports.

The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.The Gill Corporation is seeking a Quality Engineer who will perform daily operations and activities related to Non-conformance identification, evaluation and reporting, Corrective & Preventive Action investigation and reporting, Supplier Qualification/Certification processes and performing and recording root cause analysis; QE will be highly involved in compliance issues related to aerospace and defense requirements as defined in AS9100.Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.Responsibilities:Respond to customer complaints by addressing corrective actions to be completed at scheduled datesSupport Operations Engineers and/or Quality Manager with customer interfaces as necessary to address quality related issues; monitor and document customer rejections per GOS 8.5.2-1Develop sections of quality metrics, design, and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirementsPerform data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readinessPrep and analyze non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actionsCreate inspection plans defining the appropriate means for validating requirements.Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA).Read and understand customer specifications, process standards, ANSI procedures, industry standards and drawings (blue print).Compile performance report and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achievedReview, update, implement changes and establish standards to controlled documents (GOS, GMS, GPS...)Generate first article inspection (FAI) documentation to AS 9102 standardsGenerate Quality ReportsProficient on Statistical Process Control (SPC) documentation and interpretation.Engineering design interpretation with CATIA and Model Based Definition.Understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.5 standard preferred.Other essential duties may be assigned.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
