Georgia-Pacific Manufacturing Technology Group (MTG) seeks a Precision Process Specialist to support the development of precision standards across GP facilities. This role aligns the organization to best practices in precision maintenance and ensures those practices are executed and linked to GP standards.

You will establish metrics, identify high-value gaps, and work with sites to implement plans, including advanced monitoring and RCFA/RCM integration to reduce failures.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years reliability/asset care experience in manufacturing, industrial, or military environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Willing and able to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

  • Advance PBM culture at mills using PBM and mental models.
  • Lead programs with technology groups to integrate monitoring and alert systems.
  • Align sites to the precision maintenance vision and connect metrics to plans.
  • Monitor failures for common themes to focus strategies.
  • Review Predictive Technology data to reduce failure rates.
  • Partner with Site Predictive Technologies Team for early identification of out-of-standard conditions and assets of concern.
  • Contribute to safety and reliability by applying RC/M and RCFA to identify preventive procedures.
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure adoption of precision maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in precision review meetings with site leadership.

Georgia-Pacific Manufacturing Technology Group (MTG) is seeking a Precision Process Specialist to work with a team to support the development of precision standards and strategies to be implemented across the GP manufacturing facilities. This Precision Process specialist will be responsible for aligning organization to best practices in the precision maintenance space and ensure those practices are being executed and connected to a GP standard. Establish metrics to track progress and assist in developing plans to close gaps where progress is not aligning to milestones. Help identify resource gaps to implement/sustain precision programs. Working with team to determine highest value gap opportunity to focus key strategies on to close gaps.

What You Will Do
  • Advances the Principled Based Management (PBM) culture at the mills by utilizing PBM and mental models in interactions with team members.
  • Lead efforts to build out fundamental programs/processes working with technology groups to integrate advanced monitoring and alert systems to be part of our foundational strategies.
  • Work with sites to align to the precision maintenance vision and connect metrics and milestones to the execution of the plan.
  • Monitor failures for common themes to focus strategies to.
  • Reviews Predictive Technology data (Vibration, Thermography, Ultrasound) to work with sites to appropriate strategies to reduce failure rates.
  • Partner with Site Predictive Technologies Team for early identification of out of standard conditions and assets of concern.
  • Contributes to the mill’s safety and reliability by applying principles such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify appropriate Predictive and Preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure adoption of precision maintenance strategies. Participate in standard cadence of precision review meetings with site leadership.
  • Participate with team to develop plans by division/site to focus on key gap opportunities.
  • Facilitate adoption of transformative technologies.
  • Support/guide the development of appropriate escalation processes at the Plant level
  • Coach the effective use of the standard maintenance work process
  • Precision subject matter expert to support sites in trouble shooting exercises.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 10+ years reliability/asset care experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (spreadsheet creation/ editing, formula creation, pivot tables etc.), Outlook (scheduling meeting invites & emailing), PowerPoint (creating & giving presentations) and Word (creating and modifying documents and tables)
  • Willing and able to travel up to 80%
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience in Pulp & Paper Industry
  • Specialized experience in rotating equipment, machining, electrical, or precision maintenance
  • Experience building and aligning a team around a shared vision
  • Experience partnering with mechanics or other maintenance workers
  • Experience working with planning and scheduling maintenance activities
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Manufacturing System (CMMS)
  • Experience driving Reliability improvements and/or developing effective Asset Strategies
  • Experience sharing data with large and small groups (Pareto Charts, Cause Maps, Loss calculations, etc.)
  • Experience presenting information to groups or leadership teams

For this role, we anticipate paying $150k - $180k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
