Job summary

Sargent Metal in Anderson, SC is seeking a Powder Coating Technician / Painter to apply high-quality finishes to manufactured parts. You will operate electrostatic spray equipment, monitor coating thickness, and ensure products meet appearance and durability standards.

The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 1st shift hours are 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday.

Qualifications

• Previous powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of powder coating application techniques and equipment.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.

Responsibilities

• Apply powder coating to metal parts using electrostatic spray equipment while maintaining film thickness and finish quality.
• Inspect surfaces to ensure cleanliness and proper preparation before coating.
• Maintain production flow and support paint line efficiency.
• Perform color changes per procedures and clean between colors to minimize contamination.
• Monitor coating quality for adhesion and coverage according to specs.
• Conduct visual inspections for defects such as orange peel or missed areas.
• Communicate quality concerns or issues to supervisors promptly.
• Assist with hanging, unloading, packaging, and handling parts as needed.
• Keep equipment and booth clean and organized; follow safety procedures.
