Job summary

Aerotek in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assembly Mechanic to build and install piping systems and mechanical components per engineering specs and drawings. The role uses hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment with high accuracy.

You will perform pneumatic and hydrostatic testing, document results, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following SOPs and PPE requirements. This contract-to-hire position offers weekly pay and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Mechanical assembly experience including piping and component installation.
• Proficiency using general hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong communication for documenting work and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of piping materials and basic tools used in assembly work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and align piping systems, supports, valves, and control components per specs.
• Interpret technical drawings and lay out mechanical piping systems with precision.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and equipment during assembly and installation.
• Perform pneumatic and hydrostatic tests to verify integrity and identify leaks.
• Inspect assemblies for proper operation, alignment, and quality compliance.
• Maintain QA/QC checklists, material usage records, and test results.
