Job summary

ColonialWebb, a leading MEP contractor in Richmond, VA, is seeking an Assembly Mechanic to assemble prefabricated piping systems and mechanical components per engineering drawings. You will read blueprints and schematics, use hand and power tools, and ensure quality before shipment to the field.

The role requires experience in mechanical assembly or related trades, comfort with technical drawings, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, plumbing, pipefitting, or related trades.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prefabricated piping systems, valves, supports, and mechanical components per drawings and specs.
• Read blueprints, isometrics, and assembly schematics accurately.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring devices safely.
• Perform pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing to verify integrity.
• Inspect assemblies for quality and project specs; troubleshoot issues.
