Job summary

Employnet, Inc. is seeking a Touch-Up / Rework Solder Technician to perform precision soldering, desoldering and component replacement on PCBs and assemblies in Reno, NV. You will follow IPC standards and inspect with microscopes to ensure quality.

You will identify root causes of defects, document actions, and support continuous improvement while maintaining ESD-safe practices and cleanroom procedures. 2+ years of hands-on SMT and through-hole rework preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on soldering and rework experience.
• Experience with SMT and through-hole assemblies.
• Ability to read schematics, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
• ESD awareness and proper handling.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform soldering, desoldering, and component replacement on PCBs and electronic assemblies.
• Rework through-hole, SMT, and fine-pitch components (BGAs, QFNs, connectors as skill permits).
• Correct defects such as solder bridges, cold joints, lifted leads, and misalignment.
• Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, work instructions, and IPC standards.
• Inspect work using microscopes, magnifiers, and visual inspection tools.
• Document rework performed, including defect type and materials used.
• Follow ESD, safety, cleanroom, and material handling procedures.
• Maintain equipment and assist in training junior technicians.
