Job summary

Wipro Limited is seeking a Hardware Rework Technician for our San Jose hardware lab. You will perform precision board-level rework, micro-soldering, and component replacements down to 0201/0402 sizes, while partnering with design and diagnostic engineers to enable rapid ECOs and bring-up.

You will also support prototype services, lab operations, and mechanical assembly for chassis and heat-sink integration, ensuring IPC class standards are met.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on PCBA rework in R&D or NPI environments.
• Mastery of miniature SMD rework down to 0203 package sizes under magnification.
• Ability to read schematics, board layouts, CAD viewers (Allegro/Cadence).
• Proficient with high-end soldering stations, hot-air rework tools, DMMs, and optical inspection tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for chassis, heatsinks and cable assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-density board-level rework and micro-soldering under magnification.
• Replace components including 0201/0402 sizes, fine-pitch ICs, QFNs and connectors without damaging surrounding features.
• Build, modify, and repair custom cable assemblies and test headers.
• Collaborate with design and diagnostics engineers to instrument prototypes for debug.
• Support lab operations, mechanical assembly/disassembly and thermal interface work.
• Ensure IPC-A-610 / IPC-7711/7721 Class 3 quality standards during rework.
