Job summary

SpaceX seeks an SMT Rework Technician to join a focused team supporting PCBA rework and harness repairs, collaborating with engineering on new products and test racks. You will lead NPI rework builds, program and operate rework equipment, and drive root-cause resolution to reduce defects.

The role requires 3+ years in SMT rework and IPC-A-610/J-STD-001/ IPC-7711/7721 certifications; on-site Texas location with overtime and shift options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 3+ years in SMT/PCBA rework equipment and processes.
• IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and/or IPC-7711/7721 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute NPI rework builds across centers with qualified processes.
• Program, load, and operate automated and semi-automated rework equipment; manage readiness metrics.
• Lead triage of non-conforming PCBAs; drive root-cause resolution and preventative actions.
• Ensure rework issues are resolved while maintaining design integrity, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Oversee transition of rework processes from development to high-volume production with training and documentation handoff.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve yield, performance, and time.
• Define and maintain maintenance schedules, spares strategies, and support activities for all rework tools.
