Job summary

General Dynamics - Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Maine seeks a Packer #2 to package finished products for shipment. You will perform foam-in-place, military and commercial packaging, prepare containers, and maintain records of serial numbers and contents.

This on-site position requires lifting up to 35 pounds and following safety policies. Basic computer skills are needed to enter data; prior shipping experience is not required, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• No previous experience required; shipping experience desired.
• Certification in Foam in Place Packaging, Military Packaging and Commercial Packaging Practices per ASTMD 3951.
• Basic computer skills; may need to enter/verify information in forms or databases.

Responsibilities

• Wrap items and prepare shipping containers.
• Produce packaging labels including RFID/UID labeling.
• Operate tools to prepare wooden containers for shipment.
• Lift up to 35 pounds; follow safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare transportation slips, shortage lists, requisitions, and other related paperwork.
• May perform other duties as directed by supervision.
