Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Packer #2 in Saco, ME. The role packages finished products for shipment, using foam-in-place, military, and commercial packaging practices, and maintains packing records. Must follow military specs and process sheets. Requires lifting up to 35 pounds and basic computer skills.

No prior experience is required; prior shipping experience is a plus. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered as part of a full-time role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No previous experience required; shipping experience desired.
• Certification in Foam in Place Packaging, Military Packaging and Commercial Packaging Practices.

Responsibilities

• Individually wraps items.
• Assemble cardboard boxes, tubing cans, crates, cells and supports for shipping containers.
• Place packed containers in pre-made wooden boxes of various sizes.
• Prepare wooden containers using saws, hammers, paddles, nails, bands, strapping, crimpers and knives.
• Produce packaging labels including RFID/UID labeling.
• Operate stacker for moving heavy shipping containers.
