Job summary

Elevate Digital Optics is seeking a Surface Department Technician to operate and maintain surfacing equipment, generate, grind, and polish lenses to precise specifications. This role ensures that all lenses meet the required standards of quality and accuracy.

You will collaborate with coating and finishing teams, document inspection results, perform routine maintenance, and participate in process improvements while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in optical technology preferred.
• Prior experience in an optical lab or manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated generating machines to cut lenses from raw material and ensure accurate dimensions.
• Use automated equipment to grind and polish lenses and verify surface quality.
• Inspect lenses at various stages for flaws and deviations using precision instruments.
• Document inspection results and take corrective actions as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of surfacing machines and measuring equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality in the surfacing process; collaborate with the Surface Department Manager.
• Adhere to safety protocols and comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with coating and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
