Job summary

Accumold in Ankeny, IA seeks an experienced moldmaker to complete assigned engineering tasks and build components for tools and molds. You will use machining techniques to produce quality plastic parts that meet customer requirements and provide tooling support across engineering, production, quality and maintenance.

You will read plans, operate CAD programs such as Mastercam, AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and troubleshoot molds with guidance from project leaders to ensure fast, precise results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; tool & die degree preferred.
• Two-year degree or four years tooling/moldmaking experience.
• Experience with metal saws, mills, grinders and lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain production tools and molds.
• Build components for tools/molds using tool room equipment and engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret plans from paper drawings or CAD files.
• Troubleshoot and improve molds; work with project leaders to finish tasks on time.
