Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Millwrights for a project in Mebane, NC. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, dismantling machines, moving equipment with hoists, aligning components, and performing precise measurements. The role requires vigilance for safety and adherence to SIC procedures on site.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprint and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantles machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
• Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Constructs foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.
• Aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
• Unload, inspect and move equipment, using rigging, hoisting devices, chain falls and hydraulic-lift trucks or gantry overhead cranes.
• Must understand the load properties of cables, ropes, hoists, cranes and know all hand/crane signals.
• Fit bearings, align gears and wheels, attach motors, and connect belts, according to the manufacturer’s blueprints and drawings.
• Experience with precision leveling and alignment in order to measure angles, material thickness, and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, and other tools.
• Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
• Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
• Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
