Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is seeking a skilled machinist to recondition and/or manufacture indexable cutting tools per instructions. The role requires analyzing prints, selecting tools, and setting up milling operations to repair parts.

You will break down tools for weld prep, mill insert pockets, and inspect parts to ensure tolerance and customer requirements. A high school diploma and 2+ years' blueprint reading and milling experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience reading blueprints and using inspection equipment.
• 2+ years' experience operating manual milling machinery.

Responsibilities

• Analyze prints and drawings to determine tool selection and machine speeds/feeds.
• Break down tools for weld prep.
• Fixture and set up mill for repair.
• Mill insert pockets using various cutting tools.
• Use tool print specifications to hold tolerances.
• Inspect repaired parts to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Complete inspection reports and documentation as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report to & communicate with Shop Supervisor.
• Train others as needed.
• Fosters the MSC Culture and participates in special projects.
