Novolex in Cedar Rapids is hiring a Machine Operator - Large Mills. Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, climate controlled. Pay scales from $28.94 to $30.88 after milestones, with increases at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months.

The role requires setup and operation of manual equipment like vertical mills and grinders, plus precise measurement checks. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, plus an A.A.S. in CNC Machining or 3-5 years of CNC experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year A.A.S. Degree – CNC Machining Technology or 3-5 years of CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Certificate Level or higher), preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operate a variety of manual equipment that a machinist would use, including vertical mill, drill press, radial drill, hone, and Blanchard grinder.
• Observe machine operations and verify accuracy of work pieces using precision measurement tools.
