Ford Motor Company in Michigan is seeking a skilled Quality Inspection Technician for the EMDO team. The role focuses on precision dimensional inspection, GD&T interpretation, and metrology for automotive engine components, with hands-on measurement data capture using diverse CMM systems and CAD tools.

You will work with engineers to translate findings into actionable insights, maintain records, and report using MS Office while operating with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 5 years of proven experience in dimensional layout inspection and gauging.
• Strong proficiency in GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Hands-on experience with CMM and related metrology equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed layout inspections and gauging on engine components.
• Interpret blueprints with GD&T to ensure design specs are met.
• Conduct casting and forging layout inspections for dimensional accuracy.
• Apply metric and English measurement standards across tasks.
• Set up and operate precision measurement equipment (Zeiss, CMM, Adcole, Opticline, Coherix, Hommel).
• Execute component cleanliness testing per Millipore processes.
• Use CATIA V5, VisMockup, AutoCAD to support inspection planning.
• Communicate results clearly to engineering and machining teams.
• Maintain inspection data records per Ford EMDO QOS.
• Leverage MS Office for reporting and data management.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
