Job summary

OPmobility in Michigan is seeking a Site Quality Professional to lead metrology and dimensional measurement activities in our manufacturing site. You will work with QE teams to ensure product quality, maintain equipment and support new launches.

Ideal candidate has an engineering degree and 3–5 years in automotive quality, with IATF16949 knowledge, SAP familiarity, and hands-on experience with CMM, portable arms, and optical comparators.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical or related field.
• 3–5 years in an equivalent automotive quality role.
• Strong understanding of IATF16949 requirements.
• Advanced PC skills.
• Experience in people management.
• Experience in plastics industry.
• Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Advanced programming skills (preferred).
• Understanding of CoreTools (MSA requirements).
• QA knowledge preferred.
• SAP knowledge for EPOR and PO management.

Responsibilities

• Manage metrology process and ensure measurements and reports are interpreted correctly.
• Ensure dimensional measurements per the control plan frequency.
• Collaborate with QEs to improve tank dimensions in blow molding and welding processes.
• Supervise technical lab employees dedicated to quality testing.
• Calculate gainshare month over month per rules and UAW standards.
• Manage vacations, call-offs and overtime for Quality Techs.
• Compliance with the testing plan aligned with the control plan.
• Participate in new launches quality planning with QEs.
• Coordinate reinforced control plan testing with QEs.
• Maintain and calibrate stand and measurement equipment.
• Execute calibration plan with 100% timing; use of GageTrack application.
• Schedule maintenance of testing equipment.
• Understand customer-specific requirements.
• Execute MSA studies as needed.
• Operate/experience in CMM, Portable Arm, Handheld gauges, Optical Comparator and other tools to verify product.
• Purchasing requisition and PO management.
