Job summary

Ford is seeking a skilled Quality Inspection technician to join the EMDO team. You will perform detailed layout inspections, interpret GD&T-based blueprints, and operate CMM and other metrology equipment to verify engine components.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in automotive or precision manufacturing, strong GD&T skills, and experience with CAD/3D tools. The role emphasizes autonomous work, clear reporting, and adherence to Ford EMDO standards.

Qualifications

Associates Degree or equivalent education and experience.
5+ years of proven working experience in dimensional layout inspection and gauging within automotive or precision manufacturing.
Strong proficiency in GD&T and engineering blueprint reading.
Hands‑on experience with CMM and related precision metrology equipment.
Familiarity with quality systems and CAD/3D modeling tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed layout inspections and gauging on engine components using GD&T.
Interpret blueprints to ensure design specifications are met.
Set up and operate precision measurement equipment (CMM, Zeiss, Adcole, etc.).
Capture and analyze measurement data, and report findings to engineering teams.
Maintain inspection data records in compliance with Ford EMDO processes.
Communicate results clearly to stakeholders and support inspection planning.
