Job summary

OPmobility in Michigan is seeking a Site Quality Engineer to drive quality across blow molding and welding processes. You will lead a quality lab team, manage metrology, and ensure calibration plans and MSA studies are executed.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree with 3–5 years in automotive quality and strong knowledge of IATF 16949, plus hands-on experience with CMM, optical comparators, and other inspection tools.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Industrial, mechanical, chemical or related engineering.
  • 3–5 years automotive quality experience.
  • Strong understanding of IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Advanced PC skills and organization skills.
  • Experience in people management and plastics industry.
  • Must follow safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the metrology process and generate reports with QDA interpretations.
  • Ensure dimensional measurements per control plan frequency.
  • Deliver dimensional recommendations to improve tank dimensions in blow molding and welding.
  • Supervise quality testing lab technicians.
  • Schedule maintenance of testing equipment and calibrations.
  • Participate in new launches quality planning with QEs.
  • Execute MSA studies as needed.
  • Operate CMM, portable arm, handheld gages, and optical comparator.
