Job summary

ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, Inc. in Wallingford, CT is seeking a 1st shift Machine Operator to cut metal and process materials per work orders. You will safely operate saw machines, set up equipment, and record measurements to meet customer specifications.

This hands-on role requires forklift certification, basic math and computer skills, and a strong safety mindset. You’ll join a fast-paced team, contribute to continuous improvement, and help maintain a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating industrial machinery, preferably saw machines.
• Forklift certification and material handling experience.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physically active tasks.
• Basic math, reading, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate saw machines per work order and setup notes.
• Safely set up equipment and run materials to customer specifications.
• Pull, inspect, and verify materials before processing.
• Accurately record measurements and quality checks per sampling plan.
• Use forklifts and cranes to move materials (must be certified as a Material Handler).
• Package materials per written work instructions.
• Identify and record scrap or non-conforming material.
• Communicate with sales reps for order clarification when needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and general clean-up duties.
• Maintain and properly use measuring tools, scales, and scanners.
• Provide performance feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Train others when required.
