Job summary

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Quality Control Inspector for its Batavia, Ohio manufacturing team. You will inspect fabricated and assembled enclosure components to ensure they meet engineering specs, customer requirements, and production expectations.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, uses precision measuring tools, and maintains accurate inspection records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in quality control, quality inspection, mechanical inspection, or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately use measuring and inspection equipment.
• Basic understanding of dimensional tolerances and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to identify defects and determine whether products meet specifications.
• Basic computer skills for entering inspection information and maintaining records.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with production teams.
• Ability to meet production deadlines in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated and assembled enclosure components and products.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, fit, alignment, workmanship, and overall product quality.
• Use precision measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, squares, and other inspection tools.
• Inspect sheet metal, welded components, mechanical assemblies, hardware, and finished products for conformity to specifications.
• Identify defects, non-conforming materials, dimensional issues, workmanship concerns, and assembly errors.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Communicate quality issues and concerns to supervisors, production personnel, and other departments.
• Work with production to identify root causes of quality issues and assist with corrective actions.
• Verify reworked products meet specifications before release.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required.
• Assist with maintaining quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe inspection area.
