Job summary

FM Industries in Livermore, CA is seeking a Mechanical Inspector 1 for day shift to perform precision inspection of machined parts and incoming materials, verifying conformance to drawings and specifications using calibrated measuring equipment. You will interpret blueprints and reference process travelers.

Shift is Mon-Fri, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm. Benefits include paid time off and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years’ experience performing in-process and final inspection preferably in a machining, automotive or aerospace business
• Basic knowledge of GD&T preferred
• CMM operation experience preferred
• Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards

Responsibilities

• Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers
• Collect measurement data for use in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs)
